The Pearl Divers were formed in mid-eighties, playing own
material - They were influenced by contemporary bands such as "Orange
Juice" and "The
Smiths"
The band played gigs in Worcester, JB's and in London's "Dingwalls"
venue and "The
Mean Fiddler", attracting record company interest and securing
a publishing deal.
As often happens, media attention caused tensions in the band and sadly
they split up towards the end of the eighties.
The audio tracks presented here, are from two different recording sessions:-
The first two tracks were recorded at "Different
Disguises" studios, near Cradley Heath, in 1986.
The remainder were recorded at "Rich
Bitch" studios in Birmingham in 1987.
